6:00 a.m. Tour – Morning Birdwatching The best time to observe birds in the tropics is, without a doubt, early in the morning. That’s why we invite you to our exclusive 6:00 a.m. tour. Our captain and guide—both knowledgeable experts in local birdlife—will be waiting to take you on an unforgettable journey.
You’ll ride in a spacious, covered boat with a capacity of 20 people, but the experience is kept intimate: only 4 to 6 guests per tour, all with a shared passion for birdwatching. It’s the perfect setting for quiet connection with nature and capturing stunning moments.
4:00 p.m. Tour – Sunset Birdwatching The second-best time of day for birdwatching is in the afternoon, when many birds return to roost in the mangroves.
Our sunset tour offers the chance to observe a wide variety of birds in flight, crocodiles in their natural habitat, and a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean—right where the river meets the sea.

We also had the privilege of visiting his farm for an impromptu bird and breakfast tour. Definitely highlights of our trip to Costa Rica! Victor is very knowledgeable and experienced . We hope to return in the future!Posted on Dreamer1481309852911 August 2025Verified Victor Made Our Costa Rica Trip Unforgettable! We met Victor at Carara National Park and are so glad we hired him as our guide. He’s bilingual, speaks excellent English, and is incredibly knowledgeable. He spotted animals, birds, plants, and insects we would have completely missed on our own. Our kids loved the experience so much that we booked him again for a full-day tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Victor’s rates are very reasonable, and he’s kind, polite, and passionate about sharing the beauty of Costa Rica. Along the way, he shared fascinating history, culture, and local insights, and even took us to sodas (local eateries) where we enjoyed delicious, authentic food. Through him, we also discovered Carara Adventure Park for ziplining—worth every penny! If we return to the Los Sueños area, we will absolutely book Victor again. Highly recommend!Posted on Robbie Rowe18 July 2025Verified Top birding experience Knowledgeable birding guide with excellent English, had a 2.5 hour morning tour around Macaw Lodge in Costa Rica. Victor identified birds by sight and sound, allowing me to add significantly to my list. Also showed me interesting plants, frogs, insects and bats. Highly recommendedPosted on Jamie M16 May 2025Verified Vic-Tours and Carara National Park, Simply Wow There are tours and then there are tours that change your life. Victor's knowledge and passion for Carara National Park and Costa Rica are unsurpassed. We saw monkeys, and Scarlet Macaws, and a deer, and the moonwalking red-capped manakins, and so much more. The majestic and life affirming Kapok tree and Grandmother tree will literally take your breath away. Victor's knowledge of Costa Rica's ancestors and the stories of their history, the land, the wildlife, the floral, and his experiences are what makes this trip so special. Victor is a story teller extraordinaire. We are heading back in August, and our first call will be to Victor. What new adventures await?Posted on Evelyne G30 March 2025Verified TOP We had a wonderful morning with Victor. We saw many birds during our birding tour. Unfortunately, we didn't see any parrots at Carara Park, but we did see other animals and explore Costa Rica's flora with him. We highly recommend Victor for your trip, he's punctual and very kind. Thank you Victor.Posted on Patricia S2 March 2025Verified Top notch boat tour Victor was a great guide who not only confirmed our tour in a timely fashion, stood at the ready for our arrival, but was also patient and informative. Although nature is beyond anyone's control, we saw a lot of birds we were not familiar with, and 2 crocodiles. The stop on the sandbank where the river and Pacific ocean meet was special and we watched the sun set from there. We can highly recommend Vic-Tours. Thank you Victor for a wonderful, leisurely afternoon.
